Digital Portfolios and Student Response Apps

Seesaw: The Learning Journal
Available from: Apple App Store and Android Store
Description:
This app is an essential for the classroom as it allows children to create digital portfolios of their work including written work and work that they produce using different apps. Teachers set up a free account and add each student. Students can then add work to their portfolio by screen-shotting their work or taking photos of written work, art etc. Videos can also be added. Teachers can also take photos and insert the image into a particular student profile. Teachers can then access each profile and leave feedback for the students. This is a fantastic way to collate the work done by a child over a school year and could be used as a form of assessment folder. This app could be used to store writing samples, photograph students' pencil grip to ensure it is correct, record children reading aloud, collect art work and create an SESE portfolio. This app is also particularly useful for learning support and resource teachers who can create a digital record for each student.
